Spring is just around the corner and that means its time to do my favorite style of portraits – KIDS BEING KIDS!

I love doing toddlers portrait sessions outdoors!  I call these sessions KIDS BEING KIDS because my style is to put them in a tree, on some steps, in front of some great looking doors and just let them be themselves.  It is so fun and I love capturing them being themselves.

Last fall I did portraits for a friend and long time client.  This is easily one of my all time favorite portraits.  What I love about it the most…the little one is having a melt down but the two older ones know to just keep looking ahead and keep smiling!

I am starting to take bookings for outdoor sessions.  Sessions will start after the may longweekend.  Session fee is $125.  If you are interested give me a call!

    Enjoy!

I was going through some of the sessions I did in 2011 and trying to find my favorites of the year and this one definately is up there!

All 3 of these kids have been Babys First Year clients - babies who come to see me every 4 months to capture their first year.  I am really fortunate because their parents still come every years to see me for their family portrait sessions!

This shot was taken at the end of the session – can you tell!

Thought I would share this for anyone who has ever gone through all the work it takes to get family portraits done!

I once had a dad tell me he wished that one year I would go to their home and do portraits of the “gong show”  BEFORE they left the house to come for portraits.  He insisted THAT was the family portrait he would send out with their Christmas cards!  :)

With fall quickly upon us I thought I would post a few of my favorite portraits from some of the outdoor family portrait sessions I have done this summer.

Fall is a very popular time of year to do family portraits, especially if the photographer is doing color photography.  My speciality is black and white so when I do an outdoor portrait session I still do all the portraits in black and white.

There is something about black and white photography being timeless and personally, I find it has a more artistic look to me.   Even from my film days, whenever I went out into the country to just drive around and shoot photos, I always did my shooting in b&W film.

The beautiful little ladies came to see me last month.  I have been doing their family portraits for a few years now so the kids were really comfortable with me.  We had a great time and I got so many great shots of them!  This one is probably my favorite from the session.  Enjoy!
