I have been getting lots of calls from potential maternity portrait clients wanting more information about my Maternity / Newborn Portraits Special Offer so I thought I would do a post about it.

SESSION FEE
Normally, I charge $125 for my session fees.  With the Special Offer, Clients who book a maternity portrait session and a newborn portrait session will receive the maternity photo session for half price.  The cost to do both sessions is $187.50 – a savings of $62.50.

The MATERNITY/NEWBORN SPECIAL OFFER INCLUDES:

• MATERNITY PORTRAIT SESSION - my maternity sessions are 1.5 hours long.  During this time we will do a variety of portraits.  The first half of the session is the fun, casual style maternity portraits – the ones you will share with your family and friends!   The 2nd half of the maternity session is where we change things up a bit.  The lighting is a bit more dramatic, we show the belly, and really use lighting as a way to show the beauty of the belly.  Normally, I will shoot about 75 to 100 portraits during the session.  Those are then culled and edited so in the end you will see the best from your session – usually around 50 to 75 maternity portraits.  Here is a link to a slideshow that will give you an idea of the types of maternity portraits we will do

• NEWBORN PORTRAIT SESSION – you have 2 choices of newborn portrait sessions.

1. The  NEW ARRIVALS session is for newborn babies between 7 and 12 days old.  This session is all about capturing your newborn baby at the earliest stage possible.  The first part of the session is taking portraits of mom and baby, dad and baby and your new family!  Then, once we get your baby to sleep we will do a variety of portraits of baby by himself/herself.   Most of the portraits will involve cute props I have found that help create a “wow” factor without overtaking the portrait of your newborn.  I also like to do portraits using newborn hats (and some without) and then digitally color the hats to add a splash of color. Here is a link to a slideshow showing some of the portraits we will try and do
2.  The WELCOME BABY SESSION – If you don’t want to or can’t do the New Arrivals session within the first 12 days of your baby’s arrival, we will do my WELCOME BABY portrait session.  The Welcome Baby session is for babies between 2 weeks and 4 months old.   A variety of newborn portraits will be taken – mom and baby, dad and baby and of course, baby by himself/herself.  Your baby will be awake for the session, although if baby decides to go to sleep we will change things up a bit and try to get some cute sleeping baby portraits!  Here is a link to the website gallery showing the types of baby portraits we will try and do during the WELCOME BABY session.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

After your session I will go through all of the portraits taken and crop and edit them.  Then, approximately 10 days after your baby portrait session, I will meet with you to show you the portraits from your session.  I will show you a slideshow and this will be where we pick your favorite portraits from your sessions and talk a bit about what you would like to do with your portraits.

ALBUMS, BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENTS, WALL PORTRAITS ETC

They are lots of options available – Digital files, newborn albums, birth announcements/thank you cards, gifts for grandparents and family, wall portraits, canvas prints etc.   You and your spouse can then go home and discuss what would work best for you!
