As a photographer, I like to think I capture what is “real”.  I have always wanted to help parents document all the “little things”.  I love hearing them laugh and say “He does that all the time” and these 2 portraits are a good example of this.  This little guy was drooling like crazy and he kept blowing bubbles and I was lucky enough to capture one of them!  He also loved holding onto his toes but he would hold his foot with his hand on the inside of his foot.  Up until this session, all the babies I had seen always held the foot from the other side!  These are the kinds of little things I think are so important to capture because I think we forget about them as our kids get older.  I am very lucky to have hundreds of portraits of my children doing their “little things”.

Here’s a tip…when taking portraits of your kids, remember to take photos of the silly, crazy, amazing, wonderful, little things they do.  Then print some of them and display them in your home.  I think sometimes we get so busy shooting and saving them to our computers we forget what photos we took and we rarely look at them.
