Our family is very fortunate to have family photos going back to the early 1900s.  A few years ago my grandma decided to pass all of her photos on to me.  We spent hours going over the photos as I recorded her telling me stories about the photos.  Now that she is gone, I feel really lucky to have all these amazing old photos and her stories to go with them!  I recently did some research to find out what is the best way to protect these photos.  I found an amazing article on the internet by the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works.

They talk about everything from safely storing your photographs to properly displaying them.  They also have some really good information on cracked photos and negatives that have been damaged.

Click here to see a great article on how to best care for your photographs.
